City and nature

A gnarled tree, a shimmering sea, a mountain range bathed in the soft evening light. Or: a quiet road, a lively square, a stunning city skyline. Do you know places that are not just a backdrop, but claim centre stage? Whoever manages to capture that special magic has good chances of winning.

Together with Luxembourg and Qatar the Scandinavian kingdom belongs to one of the wealthiest countries in the world - measured by GDP per capita. Altogether nearly 5 million people live in Norway, which is characterised by scenic mountain ranges, plateaus, fjords and about 150,000 islands along its North Sea coastline. Many animals such as elks live in this largely untouched natural wilderness. The country is the third most successful nation in the history of the Olympic Winter Games. This is hardly surprising because the winters in Norway are much longer and harder than in most other parts of Europe.
